Research Presentation Panel at the Canadian Society for Studies in Higher Education Conference (CSSHE) – Montreal

We hosted another panel session (Using Linked Data to Study Student Outcomes and Transitions: Insights from the START-Ed Partnership Project) at the conference, where four of our researchers presented some of their recent research findings from this project. The session went well, and there were some good questions from the audience.

The three presentations were:

Presentation 1 – J. Sparks: Parenthood and Other Family Related Life-Course Transitions During Canadian Students’ Postsecondary Journeys

We hosted a thematic panel session (called Insights from Unique Data Linkages between the Toronto District School Board and the Education and Labour Market Longitudinal Platform) at the conference, where four of our researchers presented some of their recent research findings from this project. The session was well-attended and there was a lively discussion period following the talks.

Presentation 2 – Dr. Robert S Brown: Elementary-Grade 9 Patterns and Progressions: Initial Findings from the Second U of T-TDSB Study

Presentation 3 – Trisha Einmann: The Shrinking of the Post-Graduation Gender Mental Health Gap

Presentation 4 – David Zarifa: Out-Migration During Higher Education? Examining Postsecondary Transfer Pathways Within and Across Northern and Southern Regions of Ontario

Connecting Partners – Partnership Engagement Event

An online workshop that included a brief presentation on the new Overall Patterns Descriptive Report (on TDSB Data linked to Postsecondary Data), and an opportunity for partners to connect with each other and with the researchers, and to provide input on future research directions.
